Writing competition opportunity for young writers offered by Writers in Oxford.
With experienced writers as their members and the literary city of Oxford as their home, Writers in Oxford is a society for published authors, which organises a number of events throughout the year. These events range from author talks to outings and walks, and even Summer and Christmas parties. The society brings together authors to meet one another, discuss their interests, and enjoy both literary and other activities.
For their 25th anniversary, Writers in Oxford aim to attract a younger audience by launching a competition for young writers aged between 18 and 30, The WiO Young Oxfordshire Writers Competition. The judges are looking for something memorable, with impact and which is gripping. The writing needs to be inspired by Oxford and could be either fiction or non-fiction. There are several prizes to be won, including a one-year-membership with Writers in Oxford.
