Q: Do you have a favourite quote? (From a book, film, song, speech…)

A: ‘Inspiration is a guest that does not willingly visit the lazy.’ – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Q: If you could teleport yourself anywhere, real or fictional, where would it be and why?

A: St Petersburg, 1913. I’m fascinated by the pomp and splendour of the Romanovs, in spite of their glaring flaws. It would be interesting to witness their tercentenary, when they celebrated three hundred years of rule and blindly imagined reigning another three hundred.

Q: Who is your personal inspiration?

A: I have many, but Coen Brothers movies are among the most prominent sources of inspiration for me. I envy their ability to convey absurdity, especially in The Big Lebowski. I aim to inject some of that spirit into my work.
