Q: If you could travel back in time, which of the great writers would you like to meet and why?
A: There are way too many. Off the top of my head, Bryher and Virginia Woolf. Then within my life time – Angela Carter, Leslie Feinberg, Audre Lorde.
Q: Do you have a favourite quote? (From a book, film, song, speech…)
A: ‘But what do you do,’ said MiMi, ‘if to be free you demolish everything around you?’
‘But if you don’t, you die?’ said Xeno.
‘Yes. If you don’t, you die.’
The Gap of Time, Jeanette Winterson.
Q: Is there a book that you keep going back to, and if so, how many times have you read it?
A: Yes! Written On The Body by Jeanette Winterson. I have lost count of how many times I have read it. I have three copies: a signed first edition that was a birthday present from my partner, a paperback that I got signed at Edinburgh Book Festival in 2016 and my much loved and dog-eared paperback, for reading.
